- Description
N-Mal-N-bis(PEG2-acid) is a branched PEG reagent with a thiol-reactive maleimide group and terminal carboxylic acids. At pH between 6.5 and 7.5, the maleimide reacts specifically with sulfhydryl groups to produce a stable thioether linkage. The carboxylic acids provide a separate coupling route: activation with reagents such as EDC or HATU enables reaction with primary amino groups to form stable amide bonds. This reagent is listed as soluble in water, DMSO, DCM, and DMF, with a purity of 98%.
