Methyltetrazine-amido-N-bis(PEG4-NHS ester) is a branched PEG reagent with a methyltetrazine group and two NHS ester groups. Its methyltetrazine functionality reacts with TCO-containing compounds by inverse-electron demand Diels-Alder cycloaddition, forming a stable covalent bond without copper catalysis or elevated temperatures.
The NHS ester groups support labeling of primary amines on proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides, and other amine-containing molecules. The hydrophilic PEG linker contributes to water solubility; listed solvents include DMSO, DCM, DMF.
