Glucosyl(ß) Sphingosine (d18:1) is a glucosylsphingosine lysolipid derived from glucocerebrosides and formed through glucosidation of sphingosines with UDP-glucose. It belongs to the sugar sphingosine group of sphingolipids. In LA-N-2 cells, it inhibits neurite outgrowth at 10 μM and induces cell death at 50 μM. It also decreases glucocerebrosidase activity in a dose-dependent manner. Its molecular formula is C24H47NO7, with a molecular weight of 461.6.
