18:1 DGPP is a diacylglycerol pyrophosphate cataloged within the phospholipid and phosphatidic acid categories. DGPP has been reported in plants, where its production is associated with phosphatidic acid (PA) signaling and attenuation of the PA signal. It is also considered a candidate signaling molecule. Although not reported as naturally occurring in mammals, DGPP has been shown to stimulate macrophage secretion of arachidonate metabolites involved in immunoinflammatory responses.
