DSPE-PEG-NHS, MW 5,000 combines a phospholipid with a polydisperse PEG chain and an NHS reactive group. In water, it can self-assemble into lipid bilayers or micelles for the preparation of liposomes and nanoparticles used in drug-delivery research, including mRNA vaccine formulations.
