1,2-Dierucoyl-sn-glycero-3-PE is a phospholipid bearing erucic acid (13(Z)-docosenoic acid) at the sn-1 and sn-2 positions. It has been used to prepare lipid nanoparticles for mRNA delivery in vivo and to synthesize PEG conjugates for incorporation into liposomes. In mice, nanoparticles containing this lipid and mRNA encoding human erythropoietin (hEPO) increased serum hEPO levels.
