DBCO-PEG-NHS is a PEG derivative combining a dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO) group with an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester. The NHS ester supports coupling to primary amines on biomolecules, including proteins and peptides. The DBCO group provides a separate conjugation route with azide-bearing molecules through copper-free strain-promoted azide–alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC).
