Oleic Acid-13C is an isotope-labeled fatty acid intended as an internal standard for quantifying oleic acid by GC- or LC-MS. Oleic acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid found in membrane phospholipids, human plasma and adipose tissue. The terminal carboxylic acid can couple with primary amines in the presence of an activator such as HATU to form a stable amide bond.
