Biotin-PEG-NHS is a heterobifunctional PEG derivative combining a biotin tag with an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester. The ester reacts with primary amines to form stable amide bonds, allowing biotin attachment to proteins, peptides and other amine-bearing molecules.
The biotin group supports detection, purification or immobilization through binding to avidin or streptavidin. Research applications include protein labeling, immunoassays, cell surface labeling and affinity purification.
