Biotin-PEG3-N3, also named Biotin-PEG3-azide, is a biotinylation reagent containing biotin and an azide connected by a three-unit PEG spacer. The hydrophilic spacer enhances aqueous solubility. The azide supports copper-catalyzed coupling with terminal alkynes or copper-free click reactions with cyclooctynes.
Applications include non-enzymatic covalent protein tagging for downstream SDS-PAGE and Western blot analyses, as well as construction of nanostructured biointerfaces to investigate ligand-receptor interactions and the spatial organization of signaling molecules. Its listed purity is ≥95%.
