L-Homopropargylglycine(hydrochloride) is a terminal-alkyne-bearing, noncanonical amino acid analog of methionine used in click chemistry research. It can enter cells and be incorporated into growing proteins in place of methionine during translation.
The resulting alkyne-labeled proteins can undergo copper-catalyzed click reactions with fluorescent or biotin-labeled azides, enabling detection by microscopy or subsequent purification. The catalog lists solubility in Water, DMSO, a purity of 95%, and storage at -20°C.
