PDPC (solution in chloroform) contains the phosphatidylcholine 1-Palmitoyl-2-docosahexaenoyl-sn-glycero-3-PC, with palmitic acid at sn-1 and docosahexaenoic acid at sn-2. This phospholipid occurs in LDL and HDL and has also been identified in atherosclerotic plaques. In vitro, enrichment of recombinant HDLs with PDPC reduces cholesterol ester formation mediated by lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT). Its molecular formula is C46H80NO8P, and its molecular weight is 806.1.
