Stearic acid-PEG-Rhodamine, MW 5,000 is an amphiphilic polymer in the Lipid-PEG and Polymer PEG ranges. In water, it can assemble into micelles with the hydrophilic PEG exposed to the surrounding medium and the hydrophobic stearic acid tails sheltered in the interior. This self-assembly supports its use in preparing nanoparticles for drug delivery research. The rhodamine component provides a fluorescent label for tracking by fluorescence microscopy.
