DSPE-PEG-CH2COOH, MW 3,400 is a phospholipid–PEG polymer bearing a carboxylic acid group. It is used in preparing liposomes and other nanoparticles for drug nanocarrier research, with lipid tails supporting hydrophobic drug encapsulation and the PEG chain contributing water solubility. The carboxylic acid provides a conjugation site for amine-containing molecules: activation with reagents such as HATU or EDC enables formation of an amide linkage.
