Sulfo-NHS-SS-biotin is a cleavable biotin-labeling reagent for primary amines on proteins and cell surfaces. Its negatively charged sulfonate group provides water solubility and makes the reagent membrane-impermeable. A disulfide linkage allows subsequent removal of the biotin label by reduction with agents such as DTT, BME and TCEP, supporting labeling workflows that require a removable biotin tag.
