Benzyloxy carbonyl-PEG5-acid is a PEG linker bearing a benzyl protecting group on one end and a carboxylic acid on the other. The carboxylic acid can react with primary amines in the presence of activators such as EDC or HATU. The benzyl protecting group can be removed by hydrogenolysis.
