N-(PEG4-acid)-N-bis(PEG4-t-butyl ester) is a branched PEG linker with a single terminal carboxylic acid and two pendant t-butyl ester groups. The carboxylic acid reacts with amine-containing molecules in the presence of HATU, and the t-butyl ester moieties can be cleaved under acidic conditions to yield free carboxylic acids.
