Biotin-PEG12-hydrazide is a water-soluble biotinylation reagent for labeling glycoproteins and carbohydrate-containing compounds with oxidizable sugars or aldehyde groups. Its hydrazide functionality reacts with aldehydes to form semi-permanent hydrazone linkages. The hydrophilic PEG spacer supports aqueous solubility and can impart water solubility to the resulting biotinylated molecule.
