Biotin-PEG4-tetrazine is a biotinylation reagent combining a tetrazine reactive group with a PEG4 spacer. The tetrazine participates in inverse electron demand Diels-Alder ligation (IEDDA) with trans-cyclooctenes and also reacts with some strained cycloalkynes, supporting click chemistry bioconjugation.
The PEG4 spacer separates the biotin residue from the attached target to support access for avidin or streptavidin binding. It also increases the reagent’s water solubility, facilitating its use in bioconjugation workflows.
