- Description
PEG4-SATA (S-actyl-PEG 4-NHS ester) is a thiolation reagent with a protected thiol and an NHS ester separated by a water-soluble PEG4 spacer. It enables thiolation of amine-containing molecules in aqueous solution without requiring organic solvents. The PEG spacer helps reduce protein aggregation and precipitation. Treatment with hydroxylamine hydrochloride removes the acetyl protecting group to expose the sulfhydryl group.
