Fluorescein Biotin Azide combines a PEG spacer with biotin and azide functional groups and a green fluorescein moiety. The azide supports click reactions with alkyne, DBCO or BCN groups to form a stable triazole linkage, while biotin binds avidin, streptavidin or neutravidin.
The hydrophilic PEG spacer can increase the aqueous solubility of biotin conjugates, reduce steric hindrance and provide flexibility for avidin or streptavidin binding. The compound is soluble in DMSO and DMF.
