Biotin-PEG2-NH2 is a biotinylation reagent with a biotin group and a primary amine separated by a two-unit PEG spacer. The hydrophilic spacer supports aqueous solubility of biotin-labeled proteins compared with hydrocarbon-based linkers. EDC-mediated coupling allows the amine to react with carboxyl groups on biomolecules, forming stable amide bonds. This amine-functional biotin PEG reagent is used for biotin tagging in workflows involving biotin–avidin interactions.
