Lipid C2 is an ionizable cationic lipid used in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) research for in vivo mRNA delivery. It is cataloged within the branched and multi chargeable lipid categories. In mouse studies, reporter-mRNA LNPs containing this lipid accumulated preferentially in the liver and spleen, with limited distribution to the heart, lungs, and kidneys.
In a CT26 murine EBV-infected colon cancer model, LNPs carrying mRNA encoding LMP-2 were studied alongside an anti-PD-1 antibody. The combination reduced tumor volume and was associated with reduced T cell exhaustion and increased central and effector memory T cell populations.
