2H-Cho-Arg (TFA, solution in ethanol) is a steroid-based cationic lipid supplied as a trifluoroacetate salt in ethanol. Its structure combines a 2H-cholesterol skeleton with an L-arginine head group. Used to facilitate gene transfection, it complexes with plasmid DNA (pDNA). In an electrophoretic mobility shift assay, reduced pDNA migration is observed at +/- charge ratios of 4 or higher.
