18-(Azide-PEG3-ethylcarbamoyl)heptadecanoic-t-butyl ester is a PEG linker bearing an azide group and an alkane tail terminated by a t-butyl ester. The azide enables click coupling with alkyne, BCN or DBCO groups to form a stable triazole linkage. Acidic conditions can remove the t-butyl protecting group.
This lipid PEG linker can spontaneously form micelles in water and may serve as a building block for more complex lipids used in drug-delivery nanoparticles. It is soluble in DMSO, DCM, DMF and has a listed purity of 95%.
