Mal-PEG2-t-butyl ester is a maleimide-functional PEG linker with a t-butyl-protected carboxyl group. Its maleimide group forms a covalent bond with thiols, providing a route to attach thiol-bearing biomolecules. Acidic conditions can remove the t-butyl protecting group to expose the carboxyl group.
