1,2-DOPE-C8 (10mg/ml solution in ethanol) is a zwitterionic glycerophospholipid cataloged under phosphatidylethanolamine helper lipids and phospholipids. DOPE-C8 has been used in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for in vivo mRNA delivery.
LNPs containing DOPE-C8 have shown greater endosomal escape than LNPs containing 1,2-DSPC. In mice, DOPE-C8-containing LNPs carrying mRNA encoding EGFP induced hepatic EGFP expression. These findings concern the tested LNP formulations rather than the lipid solution alone. The specified storage temperature is -20°C.
