Fmoc-NH-PEG2-CH2COOH is a monodisperse PEG linker with an Fmoc-protected amine and a terminal carboxylic acid. Its hydrophilic spacer increases solubility in aqueous media. Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protecting group to expose a free amine for subsequent conjugation. Independently, the carboxylic acid can be coupled to primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU to form a stable amide bond.
