Azido-PEG1-CH2CO2-NHS combines an azide group and an NHS ester through a hydrophilic PEG spacer that can increase aqueous solubility of attached compounds. The azide supports click chemistry with alkynes, BCN and DBCO to form a stable triazole linkage, while the NHS ester enables labeling of primary amines (-NH2) on proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides and other molecules.
