PLGA(10k)-mPEG(2k) is an amphipathic polymer in the PLGA-mPEG catalog family that can self-assemble in water. Its hydrophobic poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) segment can entrap hydrophobic therapeutics, while hydrogen-bonding interactions between the PEG block and water support formation of a tight shell around the core. The terminal hydroxyl group on the PLGA segment is available for further derivatization.
