Methyltetrazine-PEG4-NHS ester is a click chemistry crosslinker combining a methyltetrazine group, a hydrophilic PEG spacer, and an amine-reactive NHS ester. The NHS ester forms covalent bonds with primary amines, including lysine side chains and aminosilane-coated surfaces, under neutral or slightly basic conditions. The methyltetrazine group supports click reactions with TCO.
The PEG spacer improves water solubility and remains part of the labeled molecule, helping reduce aggregation of labeled proteins stored in solution. This reagent is included in the tetrazine click chemistry and Tetrazine-PEG linker collections.
