Hydroxy-PEG10-acid sodium salt is a PEG linker bearing a hydroxyl group and a terminal carboxyl group in sodium salt form. The salt form provides storage and shipping stability, whereas the free acid can form polymers through reaction between hydroxyl and carboxylic acid groups.
The carboxyl functionality supports coupling to primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU to form amide bonds. The hydroxyl group allows further derivatization or replacement with other reactive groups. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer increases aqueous solubility; listed solvents are Water, DMSO, DMF.
