Acid-PEG10-t-butyl ester is a PEG linker with a terminal carboxylic acid and a second carboxyl group protected as a t-butyl ester. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer supports increased solubility in aqueous media.
The free acid can be coupled to primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU, producing a stable amide bond. Acidic conditions remove the t-butyl protecting group to expose the other carboxyl functionality.
