Acid-PEG3-t-butyl ester is a PEG linker with a terminal carboxylic acid and a second carboxyl group protected as a t-butyl ester. With activators such as EDC or HATU, the free acid can couple to primary amines to form an amide bond. Acidic conditions can remove the t-butyl protecting group, and the hydrophilic PEG spacer supports increased solubility in aqueous media.
