N-(Boc-PEG4)-NH-PEG4-t-butyl ester is a small-molecule PEG intermediate containing a free amino group, a Boc-protected amino group and a t-butyl ester. The free amino group can react with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters and carbonyls, while acidic conditions can remove the Boc protection.
