Fmoc-NH-PEG8-CH2COOH is a PEG linker with an Fmoc-protected amine and a terminal carboxylic acid. Basic conditions remove the Fmoc protection, exposing a free amine for subsequent conjugation. The carboxylic acid can couple with primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU to produce stable amide bonds. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
