Acid-PEG1-t-butyl ester is a PEG linker with a free terminal carboxylic acid and a t-butyl-protected carboxyl group. The free acid can couple with primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU to produce a stable amide bond, while acidic conditions can remove the t-butyl protecting group.
