Ac4ManNAl (N-(4-pentynoyl)-mannosamine-tetraacylated) is a cell-permeable, alkyne-labeled monosaccharide for metabolic labeling of glycoproteins. This tetraacetylated mannosamine derivative replaces natural ManNAc intracellularly, enabling glycoprotein detection and studies of glycoprotein dynamics in vivo. Its alkyne group undergoes Cu(I)-catalyzed click reaction (CuAAC) with fluorescent-labeled azides or biotin-azide.
