Perifosine is an alkylphospholipid studied for its effects on apoptosis, cell growth and signaling in tumor cell models. It induces apoptosis in U937 and Jurkat T leukemia cells and inhibits growth of PC-3 prostate carcinoma cells while reducing Akt activation.
