Miltefosine inhibits CTP:phosphocholine cytidylyltransferase (CCT), including liposome-induced CCT activity in MDCK cell homogenates. It promotes CCT movement from the membrane to the cytosol and inhibits phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis in MDCK and HeLa cells. Additional reported effects include inhibition of phosphatidylserine-activated PKC and PMA-induced morphological changes and proliferation in MDCK cells.
