Mal-PEG3-acid is a PEG linker with a maleimide group and a terminal carboxylic acid, providing two functional sites for conjugation. The maleimide reacts with thiol groups to covalently attach thiol-bearing biomolecules. With activators such as EDC or HATU, the carboxylic acid can couple to primary amines to form stable amide bonds. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
