Picolyl Azide Gly-Gly-Gly, HCl salt is a probe for sortase-mediated protein labeling, also called sortagging. Sortase couples a recognized protein sequence to the N-terminal amine of triglycine. The probe's copper-chelating motif increases the effective concentration of Cu(I) at the reaction site to enhance CuAAC labeling efficiency.
After attachment, the azide-bearing protein can be modified with alkyne- or DBCO-containing molecules to prepare site-specific conjugates, including PEGylated proteins and protein-lipid conjugates. Listed solvents are Water, DMSO, DMF, and the specified storage condition is -20°C.
