Aminoethyl-SS-propionic acid is a disulfide linker bearing terminal amine and carboxylic acid groups. Its disulfide linkage can be cleaved with Dithiothreitol (DTT). The amine provides a reaction site for carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters and other carbonyl compounds, while the acid can form an amide with primary amines using activators such as EDC or HATU.
