Picolyl azide-PEG4-NHS ester is a bifunctional PEG linker combining a picolyl azide group for copper-assisted click chemistry with an amine-reactive NHS ester. The picolyl moiety chelates Cu, increasing the effective concentration of Cu(I) at the reaction site and allowing at least 10-fold less copper catalyst to achieve the same reaction rate as conventional azides.
