UV Cleavable Biotin-PEG2-Azide is a photocleavable biotin linker with an azide handle for click chemistry. The azide reacts with alkynes under Cu(I)-catalyzed conditions or with DBCO in copper-free reactions to form a stable triazole linkage. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer increases the aqueous solubility of biotin-conjugated molecules.
Photolysis at 365 nm releases captured targets under mild conditions and can reduce background signals from nonspecifically bound proteins. The compound is suited to biotin-based capture workflows requiring light-triggered release.
