Amino-PEG7-t-butyl ester is a PEG linker bearing an amino NH2 group and a carboxyl group protected as a t-butyl ester. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer supports solubility in aqueous media. The amino group provides a site for reactions with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, and carbonyl compounds such as ketones and aldehydes. Acidic conditions can remove the t-butyl ester protection.
