Mal-amido-PEG6-acid is a PEG linker with a maleimide group and a terminal carboxylic acid, providing two sites for conjugation. The maleimide reacts with thiol groups to form covalent attachments to thiol-bearing biomolecules. With activators such as EDC or HATU, the carboxylic acid can couple to primary amines through a stable amide bond. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
