Mal-amido-PEG8-NHS combines maleimide and NHS ester groups through a hydrophilic PEG spacer that increases solubility in aqueous media. The NHS ester supports labeling of primary amines (-NH2) on proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides and other amine-containing molecules, while the maleimide reacts with thiols to form covalent connections.
