Mal-amido-PEG12-NHS is a PEG linker with two reactive groups: a maleimide and an NHS ester. The NHS ester supports labeling of primary amines (-NH2) on proteins, amine-modified oligonucleotides and other amine-containing molecules. The maleimide reacts with thiol groups to create a covalent connection to thiol-bearing biomolecules. Its hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media.
