Lipid I97 (10mg/ml solution in methyl acetate) contains a vitamin B5-derived ionizable cationic lipid with pKa = 6.23. Lipid I97 has been used to prepare lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for in vivo mRNA delivery and is cataloged within the Ionizable Lipid collection.
In mouse studies, LNPs containing lipid I97 and luciferase mRNA selectively accumulated in the spleen and lymph nodes. Formulations encapsulating mRNA encoding hemagglutinin A induced IgG1 and IgG2 production in mice.
